Tack Notes Pro
Your notes, in your own tools
Pro includes an API and an MCP server. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app by signing in, or give a key from Settings to a script, and it can find, read and add notes for you. You decide what each one can do, and you can remove it at any time.
What it can do
- Find notes by what they mean, the same smart search you use in the app.
- List and read notes, with their labels, colours, checklists and reminders.
- Add notes and lists, change them, move them to the trash and bring them back.
- Every change shows up on your other devices straight away, as if you made it in the app.
- Nothing can delete a note for good. Notes moved to the trash stay there for 7 days, as usual.
Access you control
- Create a key in Settings, under API and AI assistants. Apps you connect by signing in show in the same list. Give each app its own, so you can remove one without the others.
- Choose read only, or read and write.
- A key or connection only reaches your own notes and the notes shared with you, and only works while you have Pro.
- Settings shows when each key was last used. Remove one and it stops working at once.
Your notes go only where you send them
Smart search, dictation and the rest of Tack Notes run on our own servers, and we never send your notes or your voice to an outside AI company. The API changes none of that. When you connect another app, that app reads the notes it asks for, and what happens to them next is covered by its own privacy policy. We never connect anything for you.
Connect an AI assistant with MCP
MCP is a standard way for AI apps to use other apps. Claude (on the web, the desktop app and your phone) and ChatGPT connect by signing in: add Tack Notes by its address, sign in, and choose what the app may do. Developer tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and VS Code can sign in too, or use a key.
Address: https://tacknotes.com/mcp Header (with a key): Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY
Our step-by-step guide shows each app. Tack Notes tells your assistant that note text is your data, not instructions, which helps stop a shared note from steering it.
Use the API from your own code
A plain JSON API over HTTPS, with the same rules as the app: your plan’s limits apply, and changes sync to every device. Each key can make up to 120 requests a minute. Once you have Pro, the full reference is linked from Settings.
Questions
Do I need to be a developer?
No. In Claude or ChatGPT you add Tack Notes by its address and sign in. Developer tools take a line from Settings. The API is for people who write scripts.
Can I use it on the free plan?
No, the API and MCP server are part of Pro. If Pro ends, your keys stop working and your notes are untouched.
Is my key safe to share?
Treat it like a password. Anyone with the key can do what it allows with your notes. If one gets out, remove it in Settings and create another.
Bring your notes home.
Create a free account, upload your Google Keep export, and your board is back in minutes.
