What’s new

Everything new in Tack Notes, on the web and on Android, newest first.

  1. Website and Android 0.35

    • The offline notice is one slim line, so your notes stay where they were.
    • Offline on the website, notes already on your device no longer show a "could not be loaded" message above them.
  2. Website and Android 0.34

    • Combine notes: choose two or more and make them one. Lists merge without repeating an item, and labels, pictures and reminders come along. Undo puts the originals back.
    • Share everything you selected with someone in one go. If they aren’t on Tack Notes yet, they get one email that opens all of them.
    • Put the same reminder on several notes at once.
    • Pro: after you label a group of notes, Tack can label new notes like them by itself. Take the label off a note and it stays off.
    • Fixes: a label made from the selection bar now always lands on every note, and on Android, notes found by meaning show your latest changes straight away.
  3. Android 0.33

    • Select all: after choosing one note, tap Select all to choose everything on screen. Search for "cooking", select all, and label them in one go.
    • Archive, move to trash and make copies are in the menu at the end of the selection bar.
  4. Android 0.31

    • Search has the Filters panel from the web: kind of note, when it was written, colour and label, with a count of what matched.
    • Pro: switch between Smart and Exact words, and tap the cross on anything in "Understood as" to take it out of the question.
  5. Android 0.30

    • Pro: searches that are only a date, colour or type, like "before 2020" or "green lists", now find your notes. They work with no signal too.
  6. Website

    • Settings has a simpler "How you sign in": the accounts you sign in with, your password, and one tap to switch to Google, Microsoft or Yahoo.
    • Disconnecting the only account you sign in with asks you to choose a password in the same step, so you can never lock yourself out.
    • Pictures load in the background when you open a note, so the full screen view shows them straight away.
  7. Website

    • Tap a picture in a note to see it full screen. Click the left or right side to move between pictures, or use the arrow keys, with thumbnails along the bottom.
    • This changelog.
  8. Android 0.28

    • The same full screen pictures: tap the left or right side to move, thumbnails along the bottom.
    • Pro: the search bar says "Ask your notes anything" and shows how it understood your question.
  9. Android 0.20 to 0.27

    • Related notes, note backgrounds, and dragging notes to reorder the board.
    • Create an account in the app, and sign in with Microsoft or Yahoo.
    • Pro: say "remind me in ten minutes to call the bank" and the note offers to set it.
    • Fixes: the microphone always stops when you leave a note, and nothing you type is lost when you rotate the phone or trash a note straight away.
  10. Website

    • Version history: every note keeps its earlier versions. See what would come back, restore it, and undo if you change your mind.
    • Lists that start fresh: a repeating reminder on a list can untick every item each time it goes off.
    • Read-only links: share a note with anyone, no account needed, and stop the link whenever you like.
  11. Android 0.5 to 0.19

    • Reminders ring on your phone, even with no signal, with snooze buttons.
    • Pictures from your gallery or camera, and sharing text and pictures into Tack from any app.
    • A home screen widget where you tick list items in place, a Quick Settings tile, and app icon shortcuts.
    • Labels, sharing, search by type, label and colour, settings, live updates, undo and redo, version history, and dictation and smart search for Pro.
  12. Website

    • The Android app, in early access.
    • Pro: reminders from a sentence, so "remind me tomorrow at 9 to call Mum" becomes a reminder.
    • Sign in with Microsoft or Yahoo.
    • Share notes with anyone by email. People without an account get an invitation.
    • Pro: dictation. Speak and your words appear as you talk. Your audio is never kept.
  13. Website

    • Pro: smart search. Ask your notes questions in plain English, and see related notes under each note.
    • Search filters for kind, date, colour and label, and your recent searches.
    • Keep writing with no connection: everything syncs when you are back online.
    • Snooze reminders, and change everything with a label in one go.
  14. Website

    • Tack Notes opens: notes, lists, labels, colours, reminders, pictures and sharing.
    • Bring your whole Google Keep account in one upload, reminders included.
    • Sign in with Google.
